Giving Thanks Early and Often
Dear FCT Friends,
During these days leading up to our National Holiday of Thanksgiving, I’ve reflected on the people that I have crossed paths with this Autumn, many of whom have been generous with their time and resources in supporting Facing Cancer Together. I’d like to express my gratitude and encourage you all to give thanks early and often to the people and organizations that mean the most to you. Personally, I’m very grateful to FCT’s clinicians, board members, and staff. They are truly dedicated to our mission and have gone out of their way to welcome me into our community of hope.
Breast Cancer Awareness
Back in October Facing Cancer Together partnered with the Breast Care Center at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for a meet and greet in the St. E’s café. Many of the women we met thanked us for reminding them to schedule their mammograms, and several health care providers were pleased to learn more about Facing Cancer Together’s support groups. Thanks to St. Elizabeth’s Community Relations Manager, Keri Singer, for arranging the event.
Many thanks to everyone who participated in the Power of Pink Bracelet campaign at Brighton Collectibles@Burlington Mall. Facing Cancer Together gratefully acknowledges the support of our friends at Brighton Collectibles! A special thank you to Danielle Ferreira, Assistant Store Manager, for promoting this campaign throughout October.
Our Kendra Scott Shop for Good event was beautiful, fun, and a wonderful way to support our programs at Facing Cancer Together. Many thanks to the fantastic staff at Kendra Scott Legacy Place for raising awareness about FCT’s services! A special shout out to Joy Saunders, Philanthropic and Events Specialist, for all of her hard work and commitment to FCT’s mission.
We kicked off our end-of-year appeal mid-November and all I can say is “Wow!” The generosity and thoughtfulness of our donors is truly moving. We are looking to continue this excellent momentum next week on #GivingTuesday, so if you haven’t yet had the opportunity to support FCT, check your email box on December 3rd! We welcome donations of any amount, and if you don’t want to wait a week, you can donate early.
Brighton Allston Congregational Church (BACC)
Recently FCT’s landlords and collaborators at BACC generously agreed to FCT moving our administrative office into what was previously the Minister’s Office. The space is lovely and bright and we are making excellent use of our new home base. We’re sending gratitude to Pastor Mark Seifried and the BACC Executive Committee for improving the quality of daily life at our office. We encourage you to drop by the office on the first floor of 410 Washington Street and say “Hello.” Before you stop by the office, be sure to check out FCT’s updated Holiday Closure schedule. We want to make sure we’re here to greet you in person!
