MS, RN, Executive Director, Gay & Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD)

Lee Swislow has been executive director of Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) since May, 2005. GLAD is New England’s leading legal rights organization dedicated to ending discrimination based on sexual orientation, HIV status and gender identity and expression. As executive director, Lee is involved in the multiple strategies GLAD uses to fight discrimination—legal, legislative, advocacy and public education. Lee is an experienced non-profit manager with a long history of involvement in HIV/AIDS work, having helped start and develop programs at Boston City Hospital and the Cambridge Hospital. Ms. Swislow has an undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an associate degree in nursing from Labouré Junior College and a Master’s degree from Northeastern University.
