Retired, Administrator, Federal Agency for Families and Children (Boston office)

Hugh’s life work has been in public service, largely within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families. Most recently, from 1991 to 2008, he served as Regional Administrator for the Administration for Children and families, overseeing federally funded state and community human service programs for the six New England states. In that position, he also provided national and regional leadership with organization and program development as well as initiatives to focus attention and resources on early child development, parental depression and fatherhood programs.
